APS5 - Coordinator, Reading Room Operations

The National Library of Australia is seeking to fill the role of Co-ordinator, Reading Room Operations (APS5) in the Reader Services Section in Engagement Branch.
This role is essential to support the delivery of onsite reading room and visitor services.
You will work under limited direction to support the day to day operations of the Library’s Main and Special Collections reading rooms. You will be the first level of escalation to resolve customer service issues with reading room operations. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster relationships and participate in implementing and improving services.
As a member of the Reader Service’s team you will provide front of house information and research services in the Library’s Main and Special Collections reading rooms and support our online and phone “Ask a Librarian” reference service, including answering more complex reference enquiries.
This role includes regular evening and weekend work – undertaken during the Library’s advertised reading room opening hours.
It is desirable that you hold qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Management, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or related fields.
An 18-month merit pool may be established from this recruitment activity which may be used to fill similar vacancies at the Library.
