We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dynamic branch manager to oversee our retail operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in the retail industry, specifically in managing supermarkets and brand stores. The candidate should be between the ages of 30 and 45, with a minimum education level of a bachelor's degree or higher. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Staff management
- Shelving and quality control
- Wastes and inventory control
- Product expiry management and ordering
- Ensuring cash till discipline with respect to thefts and slippage
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the store.
- Meet and greet clients.
- Apply sales boosting techniques to meet sales targets.
- Coordinate and brief new product details to staff
- Cash till management and daily reporting
- Coordinate and check orders for each category.
- Receive, ship, and manage store inventory.
- Return of overstocked or defective merchandise
- Best before Expiry sheet to be maintained.
- Maintain relationship with vendors and internal.
- partners (warehouse / e.com)
- Monitor equipment functionality and temperatures daily.
- Proven experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar leadership role
- Strong understanding of retail operations and sales strategies
- Experience in fresh food retail is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, retail management or related field is preferred. Supervise personnel on day-to-day basis.
- Keep them motivated and client centric.
- Training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
- Performance evaluation weekly, monthly, and on yearly basis.
- Recommendations for hiring and firing.
- Develop and control departmental budget, monitors expenditures and revenue, make periodic and ad hoc reports of store activity, including annual budgets and accounts payable; Examples of expenses as below.
- Electricity
- Cleaning / janitorial
- Maintenance
- Staff / manpower requirement
- Oversee maintenance of stock, displays, signs, and inventory daily.
- Manage daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end inventory to check for theft and shrinkage.
- Develop or assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as and when required, e.g.
- Cashier duties
- Taking on call orders
- Ordering products from all categories
- Coordinate with HR regarding roaster for staff member.
- Listen and respond to customer’s complaint and promptly or escalate as per procedure.
- Represent the organization at various community and/or business meetings.
- Meet monthly and annual sales targets.
- New items list to be maintained required by clients to be prepared and maintained.
- If items in demand are not being received from warehouse after 2 requests
- Advise management.
- Certain slow items shall be ordered for client e.g.
- Wasabi paste, chili oil, Dejon mustard, cranberry sauce etc.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in retail, particularly in managing supermarts and brand stores.
- Age between 30 and 45.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Sound knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and visual merchandising.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and retail software.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
